I've been listening to all of these artists/teachers talk about their experiences, struggles, and acheivements and it has been very humbling as well as motivating. We are so spoiled in our school and even within our district. Some of these teachers get little to no budget for their art supplies, yet art is a mandated subject and has been for at least 5 years. Me and Linda both get an extremely generous budget, where our other art teacher (who comes from another building to teach 4th grade) only gets his miniscule classroom budget. (Which he has to use to purchase supplies for himself as well as art supplies for the entire year!) (Don't worry, he uses our supplies when he is in our building...it is just in his building that he has NOTHING to work with.) I really feel like I could be more resourceful and spread the love a little, but I would have to talk to my administration about that. We will see what happens!
Being around all these artists has also gotten me thinking about more and more of my own artwork. I am still looking for inspiration, but I am so ready to create! Now if I could just finish this darn afghan so I can move on to something else! haha. Actually I am thoroughly enjoying working on my afghan...I'm even making it for myself, which is rare. I think I'm about halfway done, or nearly halfway. I will post pics! Speaking of posting pics....sorry I still haven't posted any of my rent house...we still are not quite done putting away!
I'm going for now...want to work on that afghan some more! haha Love and miss you all!
