Christmas Vacation

Ahhh, Christmas Break. You know, people who don't teach just don't understand the relief. I love my students and I love my career, but I do so enjoy the breaks. In between Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks are the toughest three to four weeks. The weather is crazy which keeps the kids in at recess more days than not. And do you know that the phases of the moon and weather fronts effect them too? It makes them nuts, they can't sit still, they lose all listening skills and become extremely hyperactive....and we had a full moon AND at least one cold front in the last three weeks! On top of that the kids are excited about Christmas and it starts showing right after Thanksgiving. We still have to teach them, in spite of the fact that they can't sit still. By the time those three weeks are over, each and every teacher is very much in need of a vacation. Trust me.

Now it is break time and I'm about to go to town to work at Patti Cakes for a few hours. Funny huh? I'm on vacation and I'm voluntarily going to go work? Different kind though...I deal primarily with adults at the Bakery. :)

More later, I need to get out of here.

I love hearing "it" from a teacher's perspective. So funny!
