Eureka Springs or Bust

Brad and I started our vacation this morning with nothing in particular to do. Decided to go to Eureka Springs Arkansas and check out where the Passion Play is held and just to wander around the area. Got about 30 miles north of Clarksville and the truck was starting to miss really bad. Ever time the rpm's got below 1200 it would start missing....so we decided we better go back home. Had to get the truck in the shop and get it fixed before we leave for Branson Missouri on Friday. There is no phone reception in the hills we were in, zero, nada, no bars, nothing. So we turned around and headed back to Clarksville, took the truck straight to the shop (they can't even look at it until tomorrow), picked up a loaner car (a Ford Fusion) and went home. Got home and was pretty bummed...what are we gonna do now :) Decided there was no real reason we couldn't still go to Eureka Springs, so through an overnight bag together and headed that way. Got here about 3 or so, drove around the area and took in a couple of sights (see pictures), went to eat at a Bavarian Restaurant and ate too much, checked into a hotel and then went back out for a drive. Now it's 8 and we're back in the hotel....with not a lot to do but watch TV...which we haven't turned on yet, read the paper and do facebook/blog stuff. Tomorrow we'll tour some more of the town, on foot, and then head home. Hope you can keep up with us :) Susan and Brad
